History in the frame....
Just sorting through the family photos and found a lovely pinchbeck frame with my great grandparents and some of their children - presumably they couldn't fit the other 7 in....
Anyway it inspired me to mess about with frames and add a few odd dogs.
Bullie to follow!

Matters Sartorial.....
Hot on the heels of London Fashion Week, every self respecting terrier has an eye on catwalk trends for 2016. What kind of collars will this year's terriers be wearing?
Gilded leather? SO last season.
Stripes? - a perennial favorite and always smart but perhaps a little predictable.
Stars and stripes, boho prints. retro chic.... What's a papier maché dog to do?

not to mention the Count Arthur Strong version......
In a priceless episode " The Day the clocks went back", Arthur recalls his street fighting youth in gang wars against the Urchins. It all gets a bit Dickensian - the effect aided by the welcome arrival of a very handsome bullie..... in the Bullseye role. Sorry no pics you will have to imagine it!
The point being that it really cheers me up when a bullie turns up on the telly. There should be more opportunities..........

Missed opportunities...
I love a spot of Dickens as much as anyone and really enjoyed BBC's recent "Dickensian" with its fine cast and atmosphere......but I was so looking forward to seeing the bull terrier. This lovely dog featured in only 2 episodes of the 21 and then only briefly. Bill Sykes, it seems, usually left him at home. Surely, they could have had it knocking over the bins in a back street, lapping beer in the alehouse, scuttling along gloomy Victorian thoroughfares - in fact a sighting in most episodes would have cheered the entire production along admirably. Even heavy snoring, a good street clearing bark or warning growl in the background would have done.
